Monday was the FAVC Tack & Field Championships for Loveland Middle School.  Taylor ran three events: 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400.  She has pretty much been the relay girl all season.  Of course part of the fun is hanging out with your friends.

One of those friends is her boyfriend.

The 1st event was the 4×100 relay with Taylor leading off.  They took 2nd in this event.

Taylor after running her leg of the 4×400.  They won this event making Taylor a FAVC Champion!  She ended with with two 2nd’s and one 1st place finish.

Now her track season is over and swimming is cranking up.  Her 1st meet of the long course season is this weekend.

Taylor ran for Loveland Middle School track team at the Amelia Relays.  She ran the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays.

Taylor’s three relays swept the competition.  She brought home 3 more gold medals.

This last week Loveland Middle School hosted their annual Invitational Track Meet. Taylor ran on the “A” relay for the 4 x 100, 4 x 200, and 4 x 400.

The 1st relays was the 4 x 100. She ran the lead off leg.  The picture below shows her approaching her teammate to make the hand off.  The Loveland team won this event and missed the team record by less than a second.  Maybe, they will get it before the end of the season.

She, also, ran the 4 x 200 Relay which Loveland won.  The final event was the 4 x 400 Relay.  Taylor led off the event.  Not Taylor Dschaak, but  the other Taylor.

She had a good run and came down the last 100 fighting for 2nd.

Taylor is ready for the hand off from Taylor. They make a clean hand off and you can see the blue shorts of the lead girl in the last picture in this series.

Taylor took off from the start and after the 1st 200 meters she established a large lead over the 2nd place girl.

Taylor holds a nice lead coming down the last 100 before she makes the hand off.

Over the next 2 legs (800 meters) the other team closed the gap, but Loveland finished with the win.

The Loveland girls swept the relays and Taylor brought home three gold medals.

One season ends and another begins.  Taylor has traded in the pool and suit for a track and shoes. Taylor returns to track after earning a letter last year.  She was voted in as one of the captains by the out going 8th grade.  She looks to focus on sprints (100, 200, 400) and relays. At the Kings dual meet yesterday she ran the 100, 4×100, and 4×400.  Both relays dominated in their 1st place wins.  She placed 5th in the 100.

For Taylor track is as much about hanging with her friends (maybe more so) as it is about the running and competition.

Taylor had a nice season, but she suffered from shin splints and was concerned with hurting herself and it negatively affecting her swimming. She opted not to run a few races because of that. Taylor finished her track season running on the 4×400 relay at the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Championship Meet where they took 2nd overall.

Taylor was voted in as one of the team captains for next year by the outgoing 8th graders.  She wasn’t sure if she was going to run again next year, but now she feel obligated.
