Alex and Garrett went to the homecoming dance last night. The “homecoming” weekend started right with Loveland football winning 35-14 on Friday night. They had not won on “homecoming” weekend in the last several years. Saturday, was the Homecoming Dance. Alex and Garrett were supposed to go on a group dinner, but Garrett plays soccer for St. Xavier High School. They had a game before the dance, so they missed the dinner. Alex really wanted to go to dinner with all her friends, but they just did the dance.

Here are a couple of pictures. They bother clean up nicely.

I was wondering if Garrett could smile and I found one picture where he was smiling.

They, also, went to ST. Xavier’s Fall Dance, which is Garrett’s school’s version on homecoming.

Well, we were.  Sunday saw a major windstorm blow through Cincinnati unannounced.  At one point 90% of the “Tri-State” (aka Cincinnati Metro) was without power.  No rain.  No clouds.  Just wind.  For about 5 hours we had a constant very strong wind.  The weather reports said sustained winds of 55mph with gusts up 78mph.  Funny thing is the Cincinnati Enquirer weather for they day was forecast “blustery”.

We finally got our power back today.  It was a little over 72 hours and no power.  Alex and Taylor did not have school Monday or Tuesday.  Normally, that would be great, but with no power it quickly became “boring”.  We suffered a little wind damage losing a tree and a few shingles that and the food we lost due to lack of power for so long.

Taylor checks out the tree we lost.

We were more fortunate than some with only minor roof damage.

Here’s an article the summarizes the situation as of today (Sept. 19):

While we were home visiting the family Cody married Madelyn.  It was nice to be able to attend the ceremony, since we tend to miss a lot of things being 2,000 miles way from the family.  Here’s a few pictures from the wedding:

Here are a couple from the ceremony.  The lighting was pretty low and I wasn’t about to use my flash.

Some were more affected by the ceremony than others.

The lovely couple look awful serious.

The exchanging of vows.

All in all it was a beautiful ceremony for a lovely couple.
